ABOUT THIS WORK
Once, in a past life, Johan's dream was to become a Formula 1 driver. For various reasons, that dream never became reality — but today, we can proudly say that in his own way, Johan has made it to the pinnacle of motorsport. Unlike most helmet designs, I chose not to follow the usual lines and curves. Instead, the design draws inspiration from the iconic art movement De Stijl, with bold, elementary shapes and colors. You’ll also find elements of classic Dutch architecture — a tribute to the Netherlands’ rich cultural history. This helmet was created especially for the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix. The red, white, and blue represent both the French and Dutch flags, symbolizing a unique connection between our two countries.
