Aart-Jan Venema
Aart-Jan is a Dutch illustrator who is fascinated by exploration and discovery. His aim is to take the viewer with him on his little trips, by filling his rich compositions with little stories and tiny details. He is inspired by the Dutch painters Bosch and Brueghel. He uses markers, pencils and paints and mixes it all digitally. His trademark adventurous style really pulls the viewer into (everyday) situations by transforming the mundane into the magical. He lives and works in the Hague and is the winner of both the Overall Professional and Design awards at the World Illustration Awards 2017.
